Spring Cleaning : How To Care For Your Jewellery

How To Care For Your Jewellery To Enhance Wearing Pleasure

I am  a huge fashion accessories junkie and I absolutely adore jewellery. However, storing and caring for my accessories has always been a problem. I remember when I was in high school, I used to collect my mothers shoe boxes and use them as storage for my accessories. And then, planning an outfit and then you realise your jewellery has been tarnished or a crystal fell off, sounds familiar?  At first it was some what frustrating but then I grew up, I guess we can all relate to this, ladies.

I started buying jewellery bags and re-sealable bags to store my jewellery and spring clean my jewellery often, I must say the difference was clear. This opens the topic for todays post. "How often do you care for your jewellery and fashion accessories?" We make sure our clothes and shoes are clean and well kept but how often do we clean our jewellery?

Even if it is not real gold or silver your accessories need to be cared for regardless of the value. Skin, moisturiser, perfume or grease contributes to jewellery or accessories appearing dull and tarnished. The sparkle fades from lack of not cleaning and caring enough for jewellery, but everyone is guilty of this.

Tip number 1, always sort and spring clean your jewellery often, at least once a month. Please be aware that real gold and costume gold are cleaned differently, research on how to care for what type of jewellery you are about to clean. I can advise the best way to go about caring for your jewellery is to store in dry area and clean with dry clothe after use.

I guess the most important way to care for your jewellery is simply paying some attention and some TLC. Please see below a few tips on how to enhance your wearing pleasure by caring for your jewellery and accessories, ladies!.

DIY Jewellery Cards

                                                            Exploring My Creativity

Recently I have been very busy building on my project (LaDivalicious Pieces) and it has been an emotional and intriguing journey so far. Starting a project or business can be very exciting, especially when you have a flare for it and enjoy it. I must say it has been very exciting, tasking to the "T",  time consuming and it doesn't help that I pay attention to detail .

Packaging is very essential when it comes to fashion, at least, that is my own personal opinion. Although some people don't pay attention to the little details but if your item came packaged elegantly, surely you would notice, right?

So It has been very tasking finding the right jewellery cards, packaging and tags for my fashion accessories. At first I didn't mind the thought of the search for my perfect packaging supplies and I was excited. But when I searched all week and I wasn't contented with what I saw then I started getting worried, I was behind on my order, my to do list.

My "to do list" wasn't happy either...I asked myself the question..can I do this myself? At least on a small scale for now. And then I thought, why not explore the possibilities of what I can create and then I got started.

I got supplies, the glue is very essential for this because you want it as smooth as possible. Please see below for pictures, the list and how you can find the fashion accessories I sell.

What To Get

1. Card Board
2. Glue
3. Scissors
4. Ruler
5. Wrapping paper / Tissue wrapping paper
6. Stapler

Measure and Cut the wrapping paper or tissue wrapping paper and cardboard into squares mirroring the papers in the pictures above. Use the glue to secure the cardboard on the wrapping paper before creating the jewellery card, as seen in the picture below.

Use the scissors to cut by the sides of the wrapping paper and fold according as seen in the first picture. And when you are through, use the glue to secure and then fold the wrapping paper in place.

When the wrapping paper is in place, staple the long end of the wrapping paper on to the cardboard part of the wrapping paper securely. Thank you for taking your time to read and share this experience with me.

Please have a look at the picture below for my instagram and websites you can purchase my selection of fashion accessories.

Hair Bun Styles

So lately I have been thinking about doing something different to my hair. And I am at that stage where I have done every hairstyle I can think about and now I am bored of it.

Don't say...oh, why don't you wear your natural hair...Umm hello, NO! I don't think so. Handling my natural hair doesn't come easy for me. I mean surely we all can't be good at everything, although, if I could get a hair dresser to comb my natural hair and style it everyday, that would be a dream.

Ok, back to the hair bun hairstyle, so I decided to get a bun done but this time not my ordinary natural hair bun hairstyle that I do right infront of my mirror but professionally done by my favourite hair dresser. Although I can't help but wonder how long I can pull it of for. The reason I am wondering is because compared to using my natural hair, if my hair gets rough I can always redo. But if I get it done at hairdressers it's a total different story, #gameover. Unfortunately, I won't be able to fix it by myself, I thought I post DIY Hair Bun Styles below (enjoy)

Recently I have been searching different type of hair buns styles and I can't seem to make up my mind which one to go for. There is a wide variety out there, different styles and even unique ones too, like having a fringe or plaits added for a bit of style. "Ladies always aspire to differ, following the same fashion trends is like not having a unique style of your own"...Ladivalicous.

If you notice the third picture below has Plaits added to the hair bun and I totally love that idea.

So I created a collage of different hair bun styles to share.

Ladies with short hair, don't feel you cant join in on the fun. Get some tracks done, my sister has a short cut and she doesn't hold back.

Two celebrities that really pull of the hair bun hairstyle for me are Kim Kardarshian and Jennifer Lopez. JLo's hairstyles appear so classy and sexy, I can't help but fall in love and imagine I looked that hot lol.

And she carries her hair crown so elegantly. I usually like to do my hair bun right at the top mid part of my head but if I am going to hairdressers what is the point, that will be a total waste to get the same style I do by myself, boring. And a waste of my money if you ask me hence the confusion and exploring different styles.

In the end I finally found which style I wanted, I am going for one that I can handle and will at least last for some time. I have my hair appointment in 2 weeks so look out for when I upload the picture of how hot my hair journey turned out, fingers crossed! (Stay Tuned)

Guess which one I chose from the picture above???

Cheers Mates!
